The Amboseli is famous for its incredible scenic beauty with Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa at 5894m) dominating the landscape. As a safari destination, game viewing in Amboseli is excellent, just as is bird-watching (over 400 recorded species).

The park is also well known for its elephant families which have been studied by the famous elephant expert and researcher, Cynthia Moss for almost 30 years.

Amboseli boasts open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, swamps and marshes that are fed by the melt waters for Kilimanjaro.
